Color

Popular colors for this season continue to be khaki, natural, black, and navy blue. These traditional colors are the biggest sellers because they easily match company or corporate logo colors.

Soft colors are predominate in hip and trendy Summer caps (periwinkle, lemon, tangerine, lime, strawberry, etc.) which are preferred by the ladies.

Embroidered Logo Treatment

The cap itself is the ice cream--the whip cream and cherry is the decoration and details. There are two ways to apply color, one with the cap and one with decoration.

The trend in embroidery is very clean, subdued and understated. When blank, a cap is just a cap--it performs the simple function of providing shade from the sun. But the smallest embroidery transforms it into a fashion necessity-something to be admired, something to be coveted. More companies are embroidering on the back of the cap to go along with the front logo. Often you will see a web address, arced in a half-moon shape above the back opening.

If the image is too small, you lose promotional value. The rule of thumb is that art should be readable from a distance of 15 feet. Letters should range from 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch. Consider the size of the cap when configuring art. Ideally, art on a low-profile style will be 2 to 2.5 inches tall, while golf caps will be 2.5 to 3 inches high.
