Image Size & Resolution
Be aware that images cannot be printed larger than they come to us. Best
results are obtained from images that are high-resolution (300 dpi or
greater) and larger than the area you request them to be printed into.
Images taken from web sites are not high-resolution and cannot be reproduced
well on a T-shirt.
Additional Information
Please don't create your art in a word processing program! Such a design
usually winds up having to be recreated almost from scratch in the correct
program. It is unfortunate when someone spends a lot of time and effort
creating a design, only to find out after it's finished that the design can
not be used because it was created in the wrong program. A program like
Microsoft Word comes with a good selection of clip art, and allows you to
create graphics, shapes and text effects in many colors, but it is difficult
(and often times impossible) to print color separations from word processing
programs so you wind up with a design that looks great on your monitor, or
prints out nicely on your ink jet printer, but is unusable as art for
screenprinting. Also, please don't change the format of your design just to
make it easier to email.
Artwork for transfer printing is affected by the shirt color. For example,
on a yellow shirt a blue image will appear green after pressing (and a green
image may be distorted blue). Additionally, the background of transfers will
always be clear so white does not appear. All white areas of the design will
print clear, thus revealing the color of the shirt. For example, if you have
a blue shirt, white areas in the design will show the blue color of the
shirt.

Custom Banner & Vinyl Sign FAQ's
For over ten years, LogoSoftwear has been making all types of custom banner sign sizes, colors
and shapes. Some of the key questions to consider when purchasing a banner are what type of
banner do I need? What are the factors that determine the size of the banner needed? And how do
I install my banner? We examine these questions and offer you information about the basic banner
types we offer: Full Color Digital Banners or Cut Vinyl Banners.
Full Color Digital Banners
It used to be too expensive to print full color on large formats like banners. Digital printing
technology has spawned new cost effective ways to print full color banners and achieve maximum
impact. Our digital printers provide great color resolution at a reasonable price. Our state-of-the-art
digital printers print your graphics in large formats and at sharp resolutions.
If you would like to have computer generated artwork or photos reproduced or want to offer multiple
colors this process is for you. According to Marketing Insights, color increases visibility and recall
by up to 40%. For digital full color banners, artwork can be supplied in bitmap images at the size
you wish the banner to be in a resolution of 150 dpi or higher. We also have banner backgrounds and
photo clipart that is available for you to combine with text to make your banner stand out.
Cut Vinyl Banners
Generally for basic banners needs, cut vinyl banners can give you your best bang for the buck. Using
your vector artwork or using our layout designers, you'll be assured that this custom vinyl banner
gets noticed. Computer cut vinyl banners are "adhesive backed vinyl stickers" cut into a particular
shape. A computer plotter is used instead of templates or dies and cuts adhesive vinyl using the
computer cutter. The lettering/graphics are then transferred by hand and applied to the vinyl
banner material.
If you are looking to do a banner with basic text and one of two colors then this banner can be
the least expensive. For vinyl-cut graphics, artwork will be made into vectors (i.e. outlines,
curves). We prefer artwork in this format. These files are often are created in CorelDRAW or
Adobe Illustrator and have file extensions such as .eps, .ai, and .cdr.
How Are Banners Priced? Simple vs. Complex Designs
One of the first things you need to know about banner making is that size matters - the larger the
banner the greater the expense! There are different methods of banner making where the quantity made
or the complexity of the artwork will determine whether digital or cut vinyl is most cost effective.
We sell digital full color banners by the square foot. For cut vinyl banners, our simplified custom
banner and sign pricing system breaks down lettering and sign pricing between simple and complex
designs. Simple designs are generally basic lettering and one-color signs while complex designs
include a logo or graphics and can be up to 3-colors. Choose the simple or complex option appropriate
to your graphics need and then proceed to checkout. For vinyl-cut graphics, artwork will be made into
vectors (i.e. outlines, curves). We prefer artwork in this format. These files are often are created
in CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator and have file extensions such as .eps, .ai, and .cdr.
Chart To Consider Viewing Distance
Always ask yourself, "How far away will the banner be from the viewer?" For instance, if a Grand
Opening banner will be on the front of a business with a large parking lot between the storefront
and the street, the letter height must be large enough to be viewed by drivers on the street. Also,
keep in mind that a driver only has about 1.5 - 3 seconds to read a message while in motion. The
chart below will help you determine the correct height vs. viewing distance.
Below are answers to commonly asked questions. After reading these, if you still need additional assistance,
please email us at Info@LogoSportswear.com
Q. Can I get a special size banner?
A. Stock sizes are specified and are the most commonly used. Call if you need another size
not listed.
Q. Can I do second side personalization on banners or signs blanks?
A. No to banners but yes to sign blanks such as coroplast or aluminum. Add 50% of sign price for second
sided printing or vinyl lettering.
Q. Do the banners have holes for hanging?
A. Yes, your banner will have metal reinforced holes (grommets) every 2-4 feet.
Q. Do the banners have slits for wind?
A. No, our banners are heavy and will hold up fine in regular to moderate winds. Using bungee cords instead
of, or in addition to rope, will relieve some strain from heavier winds. Our production process does not allow us
to individually cut the banners. Your always free to cut them yourself with an exacto or utility knife, but if hung
properly and not exposed to gale force winds, it should not be necessary.
Q. Will I get a proof for my banner?
A. We email a proof (color picture) for you to approve before going into production. We will need you
to reply back your confirmation before we proceed further.
Q. What if I don't like the design on the proof you send?
A. We're happy to take suggestions on changes and revise your proof to make you satisfied. Significant
alterations may require art charges.
Q. How long does it take to get my banner?
A. Normal ship time is 5-business days; We will ship in 2-3 days for an additional 25%
premium. For tight deadline work, be sure to call or and email us before ordering, for a definite delivery
commitment.
Q. How do I know when my banner has shipped and how can I track it?
A. When your banner is shipped via UPS, we will email you a UPS tracking number.
Q. How much is shipping?
A. Shipping is determined by the order size in dollars. Chart is located here:
Shopping Guide
Q. How do I store my banner?
A. Always roll your banner with the PRINT OUT. Don't store in extreme heat, like the trunk of your car.
Never fold. With these precautions, your banner can last for years.
Q. Will your letters withstand winter elements?
A. Yes. The sun is their worst enemy. Over many years the sun will work away at the decals causing them to
eventually fade & curl. This usually takes at least 5 years & sometimes as much as 10 or more.
Q. Do you have a banner Warranty?
A. Our Banners carry a 1-year warranty against fading or discoloration. Since wind, installation & other
elements beyond our control can have a drastic effect on how long banners will last without tearing, we do not
offer any warranty against tearing or other physical damage to our banners.
Q. How Do We Install The Banners?
A. Our banners come with attached grommets every 2 feet along their width so you can securely
mount them to a variety of surfaces. You can either mount your banner directly to a wall using screws
and washers, or you can run a rope through the grommets and attach your banner to two poles. If you are
in an extremely windy area, be sure to secure the banner through all of the grommets. Banner And Sign
Track Kit can be purchased separately. This Banner Trak eliminates sagging and keeps banners straight
and true. Custom Banners.
Outdoor banners can be fastended against a building with screws and washers through the grommets. Against
a chain link fence, fasten through the grommets with nylon ties or wire. To tie between posts or
trees, thread stitched rope threaded through entire banner length so that you can tie up and install
by pulling on the rope. Indoor banners in most cases are easy to install, as they are placed in locations
where they are viewed close up. For permanent indoor digital print banners installations, wall mounting
is a relatively simple process. You can wall mount their banners by use of woodscrews through washers
and grommets. Temporary installations are very common for indoor banners and include tradeshows, sporting
events, and career fairs. Hook and loop velcro fastener can be installed on your banner to make a simple
and easy install. S-hooks are used to hang temporary banners from above, with preinstalled grommets. Additional
temporary banner installation options include pole pockets with wood dowels or PVC rods.
Q. Can I remove already applied Vinyl from a banner?
A. In most instances, it is possible to remove vinyl lettering with no residual damage to the
applied surface. While this is typically the case, different substrate materials can react in different
ways, so if you're unsure of the resulting reaction, it's important to test an inconspicuous area of
your surface before applying the following techniques to the entire area. The upside is that most
surfaces, including vehicles, respond well to the vinyl removal technique outlined below, with no resulting
damage to the surface.
